Our First Anniversary & A Friends Project Complete
Well, on the 19th LC and I celebrated our 1st anniversary. It's hard to believe that it has been a year already...people have shared that the first year is the hardest and if that truly is the case...this is going to be a breeze :-)
We celebrtated by heading up to Ludington for the weekend. We stayed at a small Inn called the Four Seasons. It was a simple and comfortable place to stay for two days and we enjoyed it very much. When we arrived on Friday we got settled in, made dinner reservations and then took a walk out the pier. Our timming was perfect and just as we reached the end of the pier the massive car ferry known as the "Badger" pulled out of the harbour. It was quite the site and was followed by a beautiful sunset.
On Saturday we spend the day hiking in Ludington State Park. We were blessed with beautiful weather most of the day and, for the most part, solitude on the trail. Our destination was the Big Sable light house which we discovered was open for the day. We of course opted to climb the many stairs to the top and enjoy the view from the top.
On Sunday we did some shopping in the rain and hiked up to the top of the Consumers Energy Pond at Ludington. Many people don't even realize that this facility exists but it is quite the site to behold! Finally we stopped at a favorite spot near Stony Lake called "Claybanks" Pottery". All in all it was an incredible weekend and a reminder to me of how blessed I am to have LC as my wife.
The last picture is of my friend Jesse and his Willys Truck which he just finished restoring (literally from parts!) and drove in the metro cruise yesterday. What a gorgeous truck!
